Classical Markha Valley Trekking6 days / moderate to vigorous / 5 to 8 hours per day
Highest point: Kongmaru-la (5,260 m) The Markha Valley is one of the best known trekking routes. Due to its accessibility, it is easy reachable by taxi and not far from Leh. You can choose from two access points, Jingchan or Chilling. The valley offers stunning views of the mountains, and if you are lucky, you will encounter wild animals as the valley is part of the Hemis National Park. At Nimaling, the last camp before Kongmaru-la, you will see the mighty peak of Kangyatse (6,400 m). The classical Markha Valley Trekking can be booked as homestay, too. Historical Sham Trekking / Baby Trekadaptable from 3 to 9 days / easy to moderate / 5 to 7 hours per day
Highest point: Meptek-la (3,800 m) The parallel north–south valleys of Liker, Yangthang, Hemis Shukpachan and Temisgam together make up the Sham Region. Trekkers find here an easy route which is suitable for first-timers in such an altitude, trekking beginners, families, or travellers in their more mature seasons. The area is full of history where you will encounter lovely villages, monasteries, and castles. Overnight in Ladakhi family houses along the route. Highlander Bokbok-la Trekkingadaptable from 2 to 4 days / challenge / 5 to 7 hours per day
Highest point: Bokbok-la (4,300 m) The trekking is short but intense. It starts in the upper part of Leh, and ends at a small village called Umla, close to the National Highway No. 1. For those who have a limited amount of time and budget, but want to have an intense trekking experience.
